Remember: 100% of the donations will go to the United Way funded programs in Delaware County.

  2. Complete the pledge form (PDF), make a copy for your records, and return it to your team captain. Team captains will have envelopes for you to use to keep your donation private. Call 765-285-4830 if you have any questions.

Ways to Give

You may pay in cash, check, money order, or give directly online with your debit/credit card via e-pledge. You may make checks payable to United Way of Delaware County.

If you use the paper form(PDF), please include your contribution and return it to your team captain.

If you wish to make a contribution through payroll deduction, you will need to complete the Payroll Deduction Authorization section online or on the pledge form.

If you use the pledge form, please return it to your team captain.

Payroll deductions will begin in January 2021.

Taxes and Receipts

United Way of Delaware, Henry, and Randolph Counties will send you a tax receipt for any cash amount returned with a completed pledge form during a calendar year. All other receipts will be sent upon request.

United Way cannot send a receipt to you if you use a payroll deduction to make your gift.

You may use your payroll stub for tax purposes.

Gifts to the United Way through a Ball State payroll deduction is a voluntary, after-tax deduction.

Yes. All you have to do is enter the deduction per pay amount as equal to your pledge total when filling out E-pledge or the paper pledge form. For example one could fill their pledge out to read, “Please deduct $100 per pay, until a total pledge of $100 has been met.

Complete the Payroll Deduction section of the pledge form, make a copy for your records and return it to your team captain. Team captains will have envelopes for you to use to keep your donation private. If you don't know your employee ID, you may use your social security number. All records are kept confidential. Since the United Way campaign officially ends each year in November, the amount pledged will start being taken our of the January pay period. The deductions will be taken until the pledged amount has been met

Total payroll deductions will be reflected in each pay stub between January and December 2021.

For tax credit on your 2020 tax returns, please pay with cash or a personal check/money order made payable to United Way of Delaware, Henry, and Randolph Counties and submit it with your pledge form prior to the end of the calendar year.

You may view your pledge from last year by doing one of the following:

  • If you donated via payroll deduction: Look on your last pay stub from the previous year by visiting MyBSU and selecting Self Serve Banner (SSB).

You have two options:

  • If you donated online, go to “Give Online” and log on to e-pledge to cancel the pledge.
  • If you donated via pledge form, contact Payroll and Employee Benefits at 285-8461. The deduction code is D20.

United Way of Delaware, Henry, and Randolph Counties will send a tax receipt to individuals for any cash amount returned with a completed pledge form during a calendar year. All other receipts will be sent upon request. Please make a copy of your pledge form which also serves as a receipt for your donation. Please note that United Way cannot send receipts to those who utilize payroll deduction. The employee who uses payroll deduction can use their payroll pay stub or a copy of the pledge form as a receipt of payment and for tax purposes.
