Fall 2012 Legacies of Perfection Seminar Photo Collage
Hans and his students spent 15 weeks investigating how the men and machines of Auburn, Indiana, helped redefine early 20th Century automobile history. The seminar worked with its community partners, the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Automobile Museum and the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Club, to produce a documentary film, Legacies of Perfection: Auburn, Cord, Duesenberg, that goes beyond simply showcasing the trademark subtle elegance and extraordinary engineering of these distinct vehicles and their influence on modern automobiles. Ultimately, it is a film about a group of people dedicated to not only preserving Indiana’s automotive history, but to preserving a community and its passion, and ensuring that the legacy of Auburns, Cords and Duesenbergs lives on.
