- Dr. Kiesha Warren-Gordon: Better Together - Deepening Community Partnerships
CJC 495 or AFAM 400 / Tuesdays 3:30pm-6:00pm
A year-long project that will create a podcast featuring the Whitely community, working with Muncie and BSU police officers, along with National and International experts in police community relations. This course will examine police-community relations focusing on issues such as: urban policing, diversity issues in criminal justice, race and crime, and criminal justice systems. - Jim Buss & Chris Flook: Canning and Collecting - Ball Jars and the Communities that they Support
HONR 390 or VBC 400 / Tuesdays 3:30pm-4:20pm
First in the series of courses and experience, this course is meant to support the creation of a documentary film on the history of Ball Jarks and the culture of collecting them. Students will study the history of canning jars, the culture of collecting, and local connections between Ball Corporation and the Muncie community. Students will identify individuals to interview and develop a working script for the documentary. (Students need not enroll in all aspects of the project. They can take this course as a stand-alond experience.) For more information, please contact Jim Buss.
