Christopher and his students explored how the Prairie Club — a group of distinguished citizens from Chicago — attempted to preserve the dunes as a national park, and celebrated the Club’s accomplishments through film, animation, art, and children’s books. The team created 11 film and animation shorts describing the natural and cultural landscapes of the dunes, and posters and artwork advertising each short for the State Park and its website. Additionally the students crafted two Indiana history children’s books. The seminar worked with the
Indiana Department of Natural Resources, the
Indiana Dunes State Park, and the
Westchester Township History Museum.
