The Business Economics concentration offers economics majors a strong foundation for fulfilling careers in finance, marketing, and related fields. It’s also an excellent choice if you plan to pursue a Master of Business Administration (MBA).

As a business economics student, you'll complete the business core curriculum, gaining insights into areas such as management, finance, and marketing. This makes the concentration a natural complement to majors like accounting, marketing, and finance, and many students choose to double major. Because of overlapping requirements, this often requires only a few additional courses.

Double majoring—whether with another business discipline or with a different field like health sciences or art—broadens your perspective and makes you more adaptable in a changing job market. Economics combined with another area of expertise can give you a competitive edge and help you stand out to employers.
