A minor in Sport Law and Politics provides students an opportunity to discover the broad, yet detailed content of law and compliance with a variety of sport settings. Students will be able to understand how sport organizations apply legal terminology into applied situations across international, professional, collegiate, interscholastic, and youth levels.

Students will develop an understanding of how sport organizations are structured and organized, then use this organizational map to apply policy and regulation within the framework of case situations. 

This minor works well with any individual who has an interest in sport, as well as majors:

  • Business
  • Legal Studies
  • Political Science

Program Requirements

Admission requirements include:

  • Maintain a 2.0 GPA in minor courses
  • Completion of SPTA 190 – Introduction to Sport Administration with a C- or better
