We couldn’t do what we do without the support of our engaged network of alumni and friends. These influential leaders and business partners support deserving students and advance our mission to offer leading curriculum, engage in pioneering research, and advance our community through real-world learning that matters. Every year, we look forward to recognizing the commitment and generosity of alumni and friends during the annual Miller College of Business Alumni Awards program.

Nominate alumni and business partners for an award or download a nomination form and mail it in. Nominations are accepted year-round and considered for three years. Nominations submitted by August 1 will be considered for the spring awards.

Since 1974, we have inducted Ball State graduates into our prestigious Hall of Fame group, whose members hold a position of distinction in business, government, or academe. Nominees must demonstrate exceptional success in their field, engage in civic leadership, and support the university. Nominees must also be active members of Ball State's alumni association, which requires an annual contribution to Ball State through the Foundation. See the list of inductees.
The award recognizes the achievements of Miller College alumni in positions of responsibility, demonstrating success in their careers and support of Miller College and Ball State. Nominees must be active members of Ball State’s alumni association, which requires an annual contribution to Ball State through the Foundation.
The Award of Distinction recognizes Miller College of Business alumni who hold positions of distinction and demonstrate outstanding success in their field. Nominees, who must be active members of Ball State’s alumni association, must also show loyalty to, support of, and leadership on behalf of Miller College and be a recognized civic leader. Nominees must also be active members of Ball State's alumni association, which requires an annual contribution to Ball State through the Foundation.
This award, selected by the Bryan Dean of the Miller College, allows the Miller College to recognize an organization or individual that made a significant impact on the Miller College. These organizations and/or individuals provide meaningful learning opportunities for our students through applied projects, internships, or full-time employment. These award winners personify partnerships for the students, faculty, and staff and serve as visible champions of Miller College and Ball State University.
2025 Alumni Award Recipients
Carrie Anderson
Carrie Anderson’s career is a powerful example of what it means to lead with intention, take on challenges, and inspire others along the way. As Executive Vice President and CFO at Campbell’s, she brings a blend of engineering expertise and financial insight to the table, skills she began combining during her time in the MBA program at Ball State. Carrie continues to give back through mentorship, leadership, and service. From championing women in the workplace to earning national recognition for her impact, she’s never stopped pushing forward.
Erica Chaney
Erica Chaney’s career is a powerful example of growth, leadership, and impact. Since earning her degree in Accounting and Information Systems from Ball State in 2014, Erica has risen through the ranks at Deloitte to become an Audit & Assurance Senior Manager. Erica also serves on the Accounting Advisory Board, has contributed to the Young Alumni Council, and continues to give back through organizations like the Indiana CPA Society and Junior Achievement. Her passion for developing others and staying connected to her roots makes her an exceptional role model.
Mitchell Dudley
Mitchell Dudley’s journey is a standout example of determination, leadership, and service. Since graduating from Ball State, he has quickly built a successful career in banking and now serves as Assistant Vice President and Business Banking Officer at The National Bank of Indianapolis. His rise through roles in credit, portfolio management, and commercial relationship management reflects his drive, expertise, and strong commitment to his clients and colleagues.
Gary Gatton
Gary Gatton’s career is a standout example of purpose-driven leadership and lasting impact. As former CEO of Traditional Medicinals, he helped transform the company into a category leader, growing it while staying deeply rooted in mission and sustainability. Gary’s career spans leadership roles at Kellogg’s, Pillsbury, and Procter & Gamble, but what sets him apart is his unwavering commitment to equity, community, and purpose-driven business.
Henry Hall
Henry Hall’s career and life have been defined by leadership, perseverance, and a deep commitment to service. A 1993 Ball State graduate and two-time First-Team All-MAC defensive end, Henry brought the same drive from the football field into his career. Today, he serves as CEO of Skytech Products Group and Chair of the Hearth, Patio & Barbecue Association, leading with vision and purpose. His deep connection to Ball State is reflected through his service on the Board of Trustees, mentorship of students, and ongoing support of the university community.
Bob Kaspar
Bob Kaspar is a powerful example of what it means to lead with both excellence and purpose. A 1981 graduate of Ball State, Bob has built and led several successful wealth management firms, most recently growing Windsor Wealth Management from $200 million to nearly $2 billion in assets. Beyond his business success, Bob is a dedicated community leader, having served on boards for Indiana Humanities, the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, and now as chair of the Ball State Foundation’s Finance and Investment Committee.
Tom Nelson
Tom Nelson’s work is a great example of what it means to lead with purpose and give back in meaningful ways. As Vice President of Human Resources at Martin Marietta, he’s helped shape the company’s growth, culture, and people-first approach across North America. But what really stands out is how he and Martin Marietta have shown up for our students at Miller College of Business through internships, hands-on projects, and generous support of events like the Miller College Carnival. Tom also serves as Chair of our Management and Leadership Advisory Board.
Justin Proctor
Justin Proctor, a proud Ball State graduate with both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Accounting, has continued to pursue excellence, most recently earning high honors from the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and completing a certificate in Executive Leadership. Today, Justin serves as Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of GBC Bank, where his forward-thinking leadership has transformed operations, from launching mobile banking and AI phone systems to creating community-driven initiatives like a school spirit debit card program.
