How to Apply

To submit an application, you will need to either create a Cardinal Landing Portal account or log in to your current account. Select the degree or program you want to apply for and then read through your program’s admission requirements and gather all of the materials you need for your application. You can return to your application at any time. Remember, at any point during the application process, you can contact your Student Success Specialist or program advisor for help.

Undergraduate

The application process for an undergraduate degree or certificate will depend on your student status: new Ball State Student (no prior college credit), transfer student, returning Ball State student, non-degree student, or guest student. Select the undergraduate program you want to apply for and begin the application process in your Cardinal Landing Portal. Remember, at any point during the application process, you can contact your Student Success Specialist or program advisor for help.

Graduate

To apply to a graduate degree, certificate, or teaching license, you will first submit a form for the program you want to apply to. Each program has different admission requirements and materials to submit, so review carefully. After you submit your application, you will receive an email with instructions on how to log into your Cardinal Landing Portal to add the required materials to your application. Remember, at any point during the application process, you can contact your Student Success Specialist or program advisor for help.

If you are an international student who will be taking online courses from outside of the United States, Ball State University’s International Admissions Office can guide your through the application process.

Application Deadlines

The application deadline for most online degrees and programs is two weeks before the start of the semester. Check with your Student Success Specialist for specific deadlines and start dates.
