Our students work together for real-life clients in interactive, technology-rich media and agency spaces. Our state-of-the-art space, the Unified Media Lab, is an 8,000 square-foot facility that includes newsrooms for our student media organizations, classroom space, a digital news desk, and a wide variety of student-run media opportunities including the Daily News. The McKinley Avenue Agency is a strategic communication and media sales organization, under the guidance of a professional adviser. The agency empowers local businesses and gives students a path to develop a professional-grade portfolio.

We teach empathy and self-awareness, not only for recognizing personal biases but also for helping students to stay grounded in professional ethics throughout their careers. Students tell us they arrive on campus and find more than an academic home; they find a sense of belonging that connects with them almost immediately and they launch onto a career path that leads to meaningful work.

Students leave prepared for careers in advertising and public relations agencies, in-house communications departments at corporations and nonprofit organizations, higher education and government agencies.

Career Paths: Graduates specializing in Mass Communication can pursue various roles, including media analyst, public relations specialist, content creator, broadcast journalist, digital marketing manager, social media strategist, media consultant, communications director, corporate communications officer, and more.
