Masterworks Chorale presents the tenth-anniversary revival of Middletown Chronicles: The Making of Middletown, America in collaboration with the Ball State University Choral Union and conducted by Dr. Andrew Crow.
Originally premiered by Masterworks Chorale in 2016, Middletown Chronicles tells the story of Muncie through music, drawing from letters, diaries, poems, articles, interviews, and oral histories connected to the landmark Middletown studies. The work explores the experiences and stories that have shaped the community through themes including work, faith, recreation, education, and natural beauty.
For its tenth anniversary, the cantata returns with a newly commissioned movement by Ball State composer Eleanor Trawick reflecting on the past ten years in Muncie.
Join the composers and conductor for a pre-concert conversation at 7 p.m. in the auditorium.
