A Procedural by Matthew Reeder
On a seemingly ordinary evening, a nameless couple prepares for bed. What begins as a series of playful, roleplay-like interrogations slowly transforms into an uncanny investigation into the strangeness of longtime intimacy. Loosely structured as an imagined police procedural, the play explores the sublime, absurd and painful experiences of sharing a life and a narrative with another human being, and how to make sense of that shared narrative when one of those human beings is suddenly and inexplicably removed from it.
