Kara Westfall
Senior Associate Director of Student Life
Kara earned her bachelors of science from the University of Southern Indiana (USI) in English: Writing and Rhetoric and minored in Marketing; while at USI, Kara competed as a student athlete on the Women's Golf Team. Kara earned her masters of science in Student Affairs and Higher Education from Indiana State University. Kara's professional experience includes working as a Conference Registrar for Virginia Tech. In addition, she worked for Vincennes University as a Student Development Coordinator and Assistant Director of Housing and Residence Life. Kara started at Ball State University in December of 2017, serving as an Assistant Director of Student Life overseeing Service Opportunities. Kara is now serving as an Associate Director of Student Life with oversite of Service Opportunities and Leadership Programs. Within her role in the Office of Student Life, Kara directly advises three student organizations: Student Voluntary Services, Cardinal Kitchen, and Dance Marathon. In addition, Kara provides direct management of the University's volunteer management system, GivePulse. Kara also supervises an Assistant Director overseeing Leadership Programs. Kara has a genuine passion for community engagement and service. She and her husband have two children and live on a mini-farm outside of Muncie. During her free time, Kara enjoys spending time with her family, camping, hiking, and golfing.
