How to Use the My Experience Journal in Be Connected
The My Experience Journal is your personal journal of your Ball State experience that prepares you for a fulfilling career and meaningful life - a space to memorialize your reflections on everything you’ve done outside the classroom (extra-curricular and co-curricular), in academic courses, and intercollegiate athletics at Ball State University that enabled you to acquire the 8 NACE competencies and explore your purpose.
Journaling is encouraged throughout your time at the university, and your reflections should build off one another. The goal of this journal is to help you create a narrative about your development and growth while at Ball State. Through your reflection and journaling, you will create a record that will be helpful with cover letters, interviews, graduate school applications, scholarship applications, lifelong career management and exploring your purpose.
You may be introduced to My Experience Journal through courses taught by faculty who use the Career Ready program. Participation in the Career Ready program provides you with opportunities to develop skills as part of course assignments and through engagement in professional development programming.
