Meeting in brief session during winter Commencement weekend, Ball State's Board of Trustees approved proposals to establish a bachelor of science/bachelor of arts degree in construction management and reconfigure an existing doctor of education in science degree as a PhD in environmental science. It also approved the awarding of an honorary degree to alumna Angela Ahrendts at graduation exercises in May.

Award winning and record setting journalist Ted Koppel will speak on campus Feb. 23 as the next guest in the university's David Letterman Distinguished Professional Lecture and Workshops Series. In a career spanning nearly a half-century, he has covered major news stories from the assassination of President John F. Kennedy to Vietnam to the current war in Iraq, as well as every U.S. presidential election campaign since 1964.
