Ball State's Jonathan Huer, director of emerging technology, has been named an Apple Distinguished Educator. Only 1,700 educators worldwide have earned the distinction, enabling them to work with Apple Inc. to integrate more technology into the classroom.

For the second year in a row, Ball State University has been named one of the country's most environmentally responsible colleges by The Princeton Review. The university is one of only 311 schools in the nation to be recognized as an eco-friendly campus by the nationally known education service company.

The Ball State University Museum of Art has achieved accreditation from the American Association of Museums (AAM), the highest national recognition for a museum. Accreditation signifies excellence to the museum community, donors, outside agencies and the museum-going public.

The Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies Inc. (CALEA) awarded full accreditation to the Ball State University Police Department and presented the award to Police Chief Gene Burton, Asst. Chief Robert Fey, Cpl. Mike Baker Sr. and Officer Renita de la Garza at the CALEA Conference in March.
