Ball State University will begin a traffic/pedestrian safety improvement project on May 9 at McKinley and Riverside avenues, encompassing the Scramble Light. Improvements will extend about 150 feet to the north, east and west and will reach to University Avenue to the south. The project will be completed by Aug. 6.

Abigail Shemoel, '11, is named a national finalist for the Frederick Law Olmsted Scholarship presented annually by the Landscape Architecture Foundation. She becomes one of just two undergraduate students in history to earn the honor. Earlier in the year, she was named one of Ball State's first two finalists for a prestigious Rhodes Scholarship.
