A transcript is an official copy of a student's academic record. It includes all courses successfully and unsuccessfully completed.

You need an official transcript to provide evidence of your academic progress for other institutions or employers.

Students with an active Ball State email account can view an unofficial transcript through Self-Service Banner (SSB) to help plan your registration of classes, see courses that you have taken, or view pending grades and degrees.

Former students and alumni may request copies of their transcript via the National Student Clearinghouse secure order site. You can order in one convenient online session and by using any major credit card.

Upon placing an order, users must digitally sign a consent form as part of the process.

Fees

  • $12 for each transcript copy sent via regular postal mail
  • $12 for each transcript copy picked up at the registrar's office in the basement of Lucina Hall
  • $12 for an electronic transcript (PDF), plus a $1.00 National Student Clearinghouse processing fee
  • overnight delivery available for $50 in addition to the $12 for each transcript copy

If you attend another university, you will want to learn if the credits will transfer to Ball State. You need to have an official college transcript sent to Ball State to determine whether your prior institution credits will transfer to Ball State.

For undergraduate transfer information (including applications), please review the undergraduate admissions or graduate school, depending on what type of credit will be evaluated.

For students who were academically dismissed from Ball State and wish to return, please complete the Special Undergraduate Application Request online.

If you have attended another institution in your time away from Ball State, you must obtain an official transcript from the transfer institution and send the transcript to the registrar's office. Once received, a committee will review the transcript and reinstatement application before making a final decision.

Ball State University has authorized the National Student Clearinghouse to provide enrollment and degree verifications.

Students enrolled in the current term at the university may print an enrollment verification by logging into my.bsu.edu and select Self-Service Banner.  Once open, click on the Student tab and Student Records, then select Enrollment Verification.  All newly awarded degrees are reported to the National Student Clearinghouse approximately 30 days after the close of a semester.
