The water-wastewater system seeks to harvest, store, and transport water to its points of use and reuse; and then collect, transport, regenerate (quality), and return the water back to the site in at least the quality at which it was harvested. The water-wastewater system for this P3 project includes water harvesting from the metal roof (or green roof if that option becomes available), stores the water in a rain barrel or linked rain barrels, distributes the water to the greenhouse (to sustain plants, organisms and the living machine), collects wastewater from the existing farmhouse, regenerates the water quality via the solar aquatic system in the greenhouse and the constructed wetlands outside, and then discharges the water (quality intended to be at least as high as when harvested) to the prairie. Water quality would be monitored immediately upon harvesting from the roof and at the point of discharge to the prairie site to determine water quality balance.
