Overview
This project explores the restoration potential of a sand and gravel mining site in Anderson, IN. The site, approximately 300 acres, is located adjacent to a prominent city park and Killbuck Creek which connects to the White River just south of the site. Teams of four students worked for one week to produce an inventory and analysis of the site as well as a conceptual master plan with character sketches. Next, students worked independently for two weeks to produce a detailed master plan of a portion of the site and a detailed site design of one of the commercial or industrial areas within that portion of the site.
