With this concentration, you’ll explore how individuals, businesses, and governments make choices under scarcity. You’ll examine microeconomic and macroeconomic theory, gaining both foundational and advanced understanding of supply, demand, markets, national income, and growth.

Coursework includes elementary and intermediate economics, emphasizing analytical tools you can apply in real‐world policy, business, and social science contexts. As a future social studies teacher, you’ll be prepared to help students understand economic systems, assess policy decisions, and interpret economic data in global and local settings.
