The Miller College of Business offers many scholarships and awards for full-time undergraduate and graduate students in business majors, totaling more than $500,000 annually. Awards are made based on fund availability and criteria.

Scholarships for Incoming Freshmen

The Miller Leadership Academy (MLA) scholarship requires an MLA application. All incoming freshmen (current high school students admitted to Ball State) are automatically considered for the remaining freshmen awards. No separate application is required for those. Some scholarships require submission of SAT/ACT scores.

Scholarships for Current Students

In order to be eligible for a Miller College of Business Scholarship or Award, an applicant must:

  • be enrolled as a full-time student at Ball State University during the terms of the award (Undergraduate and Graduate Students are eligible to apply)
  • be a Miller College of Business major

Starting this year, students will not need to fill out an application!

All eligible students with a major in the Miller College of Business will be automatically applied for scholarship opportunities within the college. It is our hope that this change will allow more students to receive scholarships from our generous donor support.

Miller College of Business students will be automatically populated into our scholarship award system. The system will automatically match students with any scholarship opportunity in which they meet the eligibility criteria. For example, if you are a MCOB student with a 3.5 or higher GPA, you're automatically considered for any scholarship that contains that criterion. While there is no minimum GPA requirement for application, some scholarships have a GPA minimum.

Scholarships and awards are supported primarily by donations to the Ball State University Foundation. A small percentage of donors require that financial need be established for the award of the scholarship. This will require completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) available online. To be considered for awards requiring financial need, you must submit your FAFSA as soon as possible. Most other awards may be made on the basis of scholastic achievement without regard to financial need.

***The Karl Harford Good Samaritan Award requires an essay for consideration. If you qualify for all other parameters of this scholarship, you will receive an email on Monday, January 22nd,   requesting your essay submission.***

Award recipients will be notified by the university through their Ball State email account starting in late spring.
