Michael Rafter
Associate Professor of Musical Theatre
Michael Rafter (he/him), Associate Professor of Musical Theatre, has served as music director/arranger for Sutton Foster for The New York Pops, Live From Lincoln Center, and over 100 concerts worldwide. He has been the music director/conductor and/or supervisor for the Broadway productions of:
Funny Girl, Violet, Everyday Rapture, Sweet Charity, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Swing!, The Sound of Music, The King and I, The Most Happy Fella, and
Gypsy. He was the associate supervisor for
Jersey Boys. Film and TV credits include:
CODA, Annette, Marriage Story, Music and Lyrics, Did You Hear About the Morgans?, and
Gypsy starring Bette Midler (Emmy for Music Direction). Michael is currently working on a new Gershwin musical,
Funny Face. He is the proud father of Siena Rafter.
