Department: Urban Planning

I have studied sustainable food systems throughout Southeast Asia, Europe,  and the United States for over a decade. My passion is in facilitating sustainability, or design that will last for generations. For over 15 years, I have worked with small businesses, design firms, municipalities, and communities to update plan documents, maps, economic development, and apply for grants. My primary area of study includes sustainable technology (ex. permeable pavers, LED lighting, green roofs, solar panels, walkability, etc.) food policy, food regulation, and the public market management. These experiences have enabled me to learn the art and value of supporting "local" through an urban planning framework.

Thesis: Developing a sustainable food system strategy: the role of urban planners and local small-scale sustainable farmers
