The School of Art invites the public to attend The Beginnings 2026 exhibition! September 4 – October 9, view student artwork completed in the past academic year in School of Art First-Year Foundations courses. Join us for the reception and awards ceremony during BSU Family Weekend, Friday, September 11 from 4 to 6 p.m. Free and open to the public.

Lathay Pegues is an Indiana University graduate, Regional Emmy Award-winning journalist, and entrepreneur from Muncie, Indiana. After working as a reporter and anchor at television stations across the Midwest, he co-founded JohnTom’s Barbecue Sauce, inspired by his grandfather’s secret family recipe. Since taking the company full-time in 2014, Pegues has expanded the brand into numerous retail stores, and JohnTom’s was named “Best Sauce in Indiana” by Indianapolis Monthly.
