Program Information
Our Supervisor Enhancement and Employee Development (SEED) Program is for all newly hired and promoted supervisors at Ball State University. SEED is designed to inform our supervisors about Ball State specific resources to help support them in their role as a supervisor. The SEED program is divided into three phases:
Know
A one-hour one-on-one orientation with the new supervisor and a People and Culture Services partner. This orientation is focused on giving supervisors the information they need to get started as a new manager at Ball State. It is designed to supplement departmental training. Following the Know meeting, supervisors will receive access to a Udemy toolkit that provides additional information and resources they can refer to as needed.
Go
A year-long training series of synchronous (in-person) and asynchronous (Udemy) courses designed to provide supervisors with Ball State specific information, connecting supervisors across campus, and continue to support supervisors throughout their first year.
Grow
Continued learning and development opportunities that allow supervisors to build their skill set.
When a new supervisor is identified through the hiring or promotion process, they will automatically be placed in the SEED program. Progress will be tracked and reported through ServiceNow and a custom dashboard accessible by both the supervisor and the supervisor's manager.
If you have questions about the SEED program, please reach out to learndev@bsu.edu or 285-1819.
