Biography


Rob Hall has published Voices of the People: Democracy and Chartist Political Identity, 1830—1870, with the Merlin Press (2007). He also received a prestigious Summer Stipend from the National Endowment for the Humanities in 2007. Hall was elected a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society in 2001. He served as the associate editor of volumes eight and nine of the Correspondence of James K. Polk. His recent publications include an article, "William Aitken: Chartist and Ten-Hour Day Advocate," in Joyce M. Bellamy and John Saville, eds., Dictionary of Labour Biography. Vol. 10. London: Macmillian Press, 2000.
