Research Areas

Dr. Natalie Keirns is a clinical health psychologist who recently completed a postdoctoral fellowship in cardiovascular behavioral medicine at Brown University Health. In graduate school, she served as PI on a National Institutes of Health predoctoral fellowship and as lead interventionist and trial coordinator for two NIH-funded behavioral weight loss trials. Through these activities, she earned a plethora of (i.e., 16) research-related awards and has published 24 peer-reviewed research articles to date. Dr. Keirns’ current research program is focused on reducing the public health burden of cardiovascular disease (CVD) by identifying and intervening on mechanisms by which psychosocial factors contribute to CVD development in people with obesity.
