About Michael Maggiotto

Dr. Maggiotto joined the Political Science Department in the Fall of 2003. He served as the Dean of the College of Sciences and Humanities from 2003 until 2016. Dr. Maggiotto’s teaching and research interests fall broadly within American politics, political behavior and American foreign and national defense policy. His research has been supported by two grants from the National Science Foundation. Dr. Maggiotto has taught Introduction to American National Government (POLS 130), National Defense Policy (POLS 342), Public Opinion and Political Behavior (POLS 370), Campaign Politics (POLS 372), and American Political Parties (POLS 473), at the undergraduate level.

Dr. Maggiotto lives with his wife in Muncie. They have three grown children and 10 grandchildren. Dr. Maggiotto served in the Navy during the Vietnam War aboard a DLG and as a defense policy analyst in Washington, D.C.
