Ehren Bingaman is the director of the Transportation Planning Department for the HNTB Corporation in Atlanta, GA. With offices across the United States, HNTB provides infrastructure solutions to a diverse array of clients in the transportation, transit, aviation, engineering, architecture, and planning space. Ehren’s professional experience includes community and economic development, strategic and master planning, policy development, and executive leadership for both the public and private sectors.

After leading Indianapolis’ Fort Harrison Reuse Authority through a master planning process that culminated in the award-winning Lawrence Village Master Plan, he became the first ever executive director of the Central Indiana Regional Transportation Authority. In this capacity Ehren cultivated regional partnerships with public and private entities that culminated in the creation Indy Connect, Central Indiana’s Regional Transit Vision. This plan was the catalyst for legislation that created local funding options for transit and ultimately the recent passage of new revenue to grow and expand the transit system in Central Indiana.

In 2013, Ehren joined HNTB initially in Indianapolis, then moved to Atlanta to lead the firm’s largest planning practice. In this capacity Ehren is responsible for more than 20 planning professionals and provides thought leadership and project management to transit agencies like the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority, the Georgia Regional Transportation Authority, the Southeast Michigan Regional Transit Authority, and others. In 2015, Ehren was the project manager for the Transit Master Plan for the RTA in Detroit, MI. This planning process included a four-county stakeholder engagement process, complex regional funding and policy dialogue, and the vision for regional mobility in the Detroit metro area.

Ehren enjoys reading, golf, being active in his church, and spending time with his wife, Mindy (Estes) Bingaman BA '99, MA '03, and their three daughters.
