To graduate, every student must apply to graduate, even if you don't plan to attend a ceremony.
Apply to Graduate
You will also need to pay a $25 application fee, which is assessed per degree (example: master of arts, associate in science, etc.) and per completed application.
If you apply to graduate and then determine that you do not meet the requirements, you will have to re-apply for the correct graduation date and an additional $25 fee will be charged.
Application fees are not refundable or transferable.
Academic progress can be seen on your DegreeWorks. Log into Self-Service Banner (SSB) at my.bsu, click on the "Student" tab, then "DegreeWorks for Students."
If you have questions about your eligibility to graduate, you should contact the Upper Division Advising Center located in AC 224 (765-285-5490).
Fill Out the Application
If you meet the eligibility criteria, you must complete an application in order to graduate.
Log into Self-Service Banner (SSB), then select:
- the "Student" tab
- "Student Records"
- "Apply to Graduate"
Then start the application process.
Declare Intent to Participate in a Ceremony
On the application, you will indicate: "yes," or "no," about whether you want to participate in a commencement ceremony.
After you submit your application, if you want to change your attendance, please email us.
Graduation Application Information
Undergraduate students can apply to graduate using Self-Service Banner through the dates listed below. Student names will appear in the Commencement Program Book if they apply on time.
If you don’t submit your application by the deadline below, you can still apply through the Upper Division Advising Center, located in the Arts and Communication Building, room 224 (765-285-5490).
Due to printing deadlines, students who apply through Upper Division Advising will not have their names printed in the program book.
- Undergraduate: March 1, 2020 – October 28, 2020
- Graduate: May 27, 2020 – September 21, 2020
- Undergraduate: September 1, 2020 – March 22, 2021
- Graduate: September 22, 2020 – February 8, 2021
- Undergraduate: February 1, 2021 – June 28, 2021
- Graduate: February 9, 2021 – May 24, 2021
