Emile Dixon serves as Instructor of Architecture at Ball State University and an associate at RGCollaborative, LLC in Indianapolis, Indiana. His academic career started at Tuskegee University, Tuskegee, Alabama where he was an assistant professor of architecture, in the Robert R. Taylor School of Architecture and Construction Science. He received his Master’s of Architecture from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU) in Tallahassee, Florida where he further investigated this theory which ultimately played in the development of his thesis “Designing for the Forgotten: Eliminating the Stigma of Affordable Housing.” During his undergraduate career and by the influence of his incredible mentor and other professors in the BSU architecture program, understanding the social justice paradigm of architecture and design. During his formative years, he learned that architecture could allow him to make changes to the landscape through design suggestions which could improve the quality of life particularly in the distressed inner-city neighborhood that surrounded him. He is a proud alumnus of the Estopinal College of Architecture and Planning at Ball State University (BSU) in Muncie, Indiana.
