Elizabeth Dalton
Teaching Professor of Honors Humanities
As an Honors humanities professor, I encourage students to develop an understanding of and appreciation for the intellectual artifacts of human endeavor from the ancient world to the present day. My focus is primarily on literature and the visual arts as representatives of the major cultural and intellectual movements throughout human history.
I am particularly interested in the contributions women have made to world culture, which I have the privilege to explore with my students in my Jane Austen’s England and Fabric of Words colloquia.
My fiction, poetry, and creative nonfiction have been published in a number of literary journals and ‘zines. My work has received two Pushcart Prize nominations (one special mention) and has been supported by the Indiana Arts Commission.
