This dual concentration prepares students to teach instrumental and vocal music across K–12 settings, including general music, band, orchestra, and choir.

Designed for students with a strong interest in instrumental music who also want the versatility to lead choral ensembles, the program includes coursework in teaching methods, ensemble participation, conducting, and vocal techniques.

Graduates pursue fulfilling careers as band or orchestra directors, elementary music teachers, or choral directors. Many continue their education at the graduate level. Nearly all graduates begin working as music educators shortly after completing the program.
