The dual concentration in vocal and instrumental music education prepares students to teach a wide range of K–12 music classes, including general music, choir, band, and orchestra.

Ideal for students passionate about choral music who want the flexibility to direct both vocal and instrumental ensembles, this program includes coursework in music education methods, ensemble participation, conducting, and practical instrumental techniques.

Graduates are well-prepared to lead multiple ensembles in school settings and often pursue meaningful careers as elementary music teachers or choir directors. Many continue on to graduate studies. Nearly all of our graduates begin their teaching careers immediately upon graduation.
