The School of Art prepares students to be critical thinkers and problem solvers who pursue careers as artists, designers, educators, and creative professionals. Students and faculty collaborate on interdisciplinary research and project-based learning in art and design. We provide an environment that supports and challenges students, fostering their curiosity, encouraging risk taking, and helping them develop the skills and confidence to lead fulfilling lives.

The School of Art includes exceptional facilities dedicated to animation, art education, art history, ceramics, drawing, glass, game art/design, graphic arts management, graphic design, illustration, metals + jewelry, painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture, video and new media, and visual effects. Our faculty are active nationally and internationally as artists, designers, scholars, and teachers who facilitate hands-on projects and professional experiences for students to create and share their work in exhibitions, festivals, and conferences. We guide students in developing the technical skills, historical knowledge, and conceptual ingenuity they need to succeed.
