Located on the East side of campus, Studebaker West Complex is one of the largest residence halls on Ball State's campus and is comprised of two halls, Painter/Whitcraft and Palmer/Davidson. Studebaker West Complex is also home to the Social Sciences Living-Learning Community and as of the 24-25 Academic Year, the Humanities Living-Learning Community as well.

Studebaker West has a spacious recreation area in the basement, multiple lounges on each floor, and a large multi-purpose room to host events and meetings. The Micro Café, located on the first floor, is a nice spot to grab a quick snack or coffee before class.

The residence hall is coed and has community-style bathrooms and central air conditioning. Furniture within the hall is stackable, allowing students to truly tailor their living space. A large amount of green space directly behind the building is a peaceful spot for hammocking and outdoor activities.

Studebaker West Complex, also known as Stu West, is a lively and tight-knit community where it is not uncommon for residents to find friends throughout the many floors of the building. Over time, residents adopted the Stallion as its official hall mascot.
