Located in the North Residential Neighborhood, Schmidt/Wilson Residence Hall is home to the Art and Performing Arts Living-Learning Communities. Originally a part of the former Johnson Complex, in 2017 the building was completely renovated along with its sister hall, Botsford/Swinford.

The hall is coed and has semi-private bathrooms (a bathroom shared by a small number of students). Furniture within the hall is loftable, allowing students to truly tailor their living space. The building's location provides students close access to North Dining Hall, the Jo Ann Gora Student Recreation and Wellness Center, three other close-by residence halls, and several academic buildings.

Schmidt/Wilson, also known across campus as "Schmilson" is home to a very involved and active community of creative students. Residents can often be found using the resources inside of the building's design studio or black box theatre, playing instruments in designated music practice rooms, or utilizing the dance studio.
