ribbon Accreditation

Our programs are accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design. Learn more.

Our photography area is centered on the production of adroit, mature, experimental, and idea-driven art. We offer a diverse and collaborative experience focused on the innovative use of digital and analog photography, alternative processes, video, performance, and installation. Our goal is to graduate students with the skills, intellect, drive, maturity, and portfolios necessary for a life of creative production and exhibition.

Faculty provide students with a variety of methods and strategies for achieving their artistic careers. Formal and technical mastery is emphasized alongside critical inquiry and conceptual approaches. The development of personal voice and vision is central to the curriculum. Students are expected to articulate ideas in writing as they develop them into fully realized and exhibited artworks.

Our facilities include dedicated digital labs, large darkrooms for traditional and alternative photography, a lighting studio, and a complete array of equipment associated with professional photography, video, and lighting.
