Jessica Calderwood
Associate Professor of Art
Jessica Calderwood joins the School of Art as associate professor of Metals and Jewelry to replace Distinguished Professor Pat Nelson. She earned her BFA at the Cleveland Institute of Art with an emphasis in enameling, and her MFA from Arizona State with an emphasis in Metals. Most recently, Jessica was associate professor at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, where she worked since 2008. Her solo exhibitions include galleries in New York City, Chicago, Boston and Memphis, as well as multiple solo shows in Wisconsin, Iowa, Arizona and Missouri. Her numerous group exhibitions and competitions span the breadth of the US, as well as Spain, Japan and Italy. She has lectured and presented workshops widely at universities and craft centers across the country, including a visit to Ball State in 2012 as part of the School of Art’s Visiting Artists, Designers and Scholars Series, and she was the keynote speaker at the National Enamelist’s Society’s annual conference in 2015. In addition to prestigious residencies throughout the country, Jessica’s work has been honored with numerous awards for over a decade and has appeared in more than 20 publications.
